IPC India - PCB Design Competition



IPC India’s PCB Design Competition will put to test the skills of the PCB Designers and create an opportunity to compete with the best in the business.
The contest will recognize the best designers judged on the following criteria:
  • CAD tool expertise.
  • Perception of the Design Technology and application of the Design Standards.
  • Overall understanding of the PCB Design requirements.
  • Sensitivity to consequences of the Design Constraints on Down Stream Activities like, Fabrication and Assembly.
In addition to gaining the recognition of their peers, participants will be able to benchmark their PCB Design skills against those of their design colleagues and receive recommendations from advanced certified designers (CID+) and world class specialists in the field on how to improve performance.

IPC India recently conducted the first ever PCB Design Competition at the MMI Show during 26 – 28 September 2018 at BIEC, Bengaluru. 18 contestants from various companies participated in the competition. The initial round was conducted offline where the participants designed the PCB schematics during two weeks’ time and the evaluations were done as per the IPC Designer Standard. During the final two rounds, the contestants were quizzed, and the final six participants topped for the ultimate viva round.

IPC India has planned to conducted similar PCB Design Competitions in the near future and a prior intimation will be given regarding the same.
